ICA: Conversations on Deana Lawson: Gloria Sutton and Eva Respini
The ICA on Thursday, December 2 at 6pm will present an intimate and conversational talk dedicated to the work of artist Deana Lawson. This discussion will be lead by Gloria Sutton and Eva Respini. Lawson makes images that tell stories to reclaim an expansive Black experience. This conversation will explore Lawson’s work within a longer history of photography, frames of representation, and Black visual cultures.
Gloria Sutton is Associate Professor of Contemporary Art History and affiliated faculty in the Women’s Gender and Sexuality Studies program at Northeastern University.
Eva Respini is Barbara Lee Chief Curator at the ICA/Boston and has been leading the vision of the program since 2015.
