ICA: Gallery Talk: Aida Wong on Haegue Yang

Scholar Aida Wong shares her perspective on Haegue Yang’s The Intermediate-Inceptive Sphere, 2016, a sculpture in the ICA collection made of a combination of ordinary materials such as twine, straw, bells, and flowers. Wong is a professor of modern Asian art history at Brandeis University whose publications include Parting the Mists: Discovering Japan and the Rise of National-Style Painting in Modern China and the edited volume Visualizing Beauty: Gender and Ideology in Modern East Asia. She is currently at work on the edited volume Fashion, Identity, and Power in Modern Asia.
