Shanta Lee Gander is an award winning artist who works in different mediums as a photographer, writer across genres, and a public intellectual. She is the author of the poetry collection, GHETTOCLAUSTROPHOBIA: Dreamin of Mama While Trying to Speak Woman in Woke Tongues (Diode, 2021) and illustrated collection, Black Metamorphoses (Etruscan Press, 2023). Dark Goddess: An Exploration of the Sacred Feminine, her latest exhibition is on view at the Fleming Museum of Art.
U-Meleni Mhlaba-Adebo is a Zimbabwean-American Boston based poet, performance artist, storyteller, and educator with an international reach and a transnational lens. In January of 2023, she received a Certificate of Recognition by Mayor Wu for her creative work in the city and commitment to making Boston more inclusivity and equitable. U-Meleni is a board member for Write On the Dot and Mass Poetry as well as a member of the New England Poetry Club & the National Writers Union. She is deliciously loved by her adorable husband and son.
