Our virtual Seaport Session is a kick-off to Boston Design Week 2021.. Tune in on Wednesday, April 28th at 3:00pm to hear from the Design Seaport artists.
Design Seaport is a biennial competition that gives local design professionals an opportunity to showcase their work in the Seaport neighborhood. The program launched in 2020 and was created by WS Development and OverUnder, with Support from the Boston Society of Architects and the Mayor’s Office for New Urban Mechanics. For its second iteration, Design Seaport invited designers to create interactive works inspired by the theme of spaces within places, and the concept of being inside while outside, together while apart.
OverUnder’s Chris Grimley will moderate this conversation with the principals of the two latest winning design teams with Design Seaport’s winning designers for the Spring 2021 iteration, Elle Gerdeman of CO—G and Sean Canty of Studio Sean Canty, about their new installations, Loose Fit and Edgar’s Shed, respectively. This virtual event will include discussion about designing to scale, telling a story through form and function, and the role of creating installations for public engagement and conversation.
