The Current | Myoli Bay
Myoli Bay opens its first ever brick and mortar store at The Current. This locally based, sustainable clothing brand is named after its Boston founders, Joey Santullo and Blake Alessandroni’s favorite spot on earth, a beach destination just a few hours outside of Cape Town, South Africa. Each of its bold, brightly colored trunks is made from 12 recycled plastic bottles which are broken into plastic chips, melted down, and spun into yarn. Removing the infamous, itchy, sand-trapping liner that has caused many a beachgoer irritation, Myoli Bay adds in a stretchy spandex liner for perfect comfort. Myoli Bay will launch its first children’s clothing line at The Current, carrying trunks ready to match Dad just in time for Father’s Day. Additional in-store offerings will include hats, tees, and gaiters, alongside products from other local small business friends, including Darwin, Sōp, Grey Lady Candle, and more. Further protecting our planet and raising awareness for plastic pollution, 15% of all Myoli Bay profits are dedicated to ocean and beach clean-ups.
